During any trainings, we place the safety of the participants first. Of course, we also remember that good fun is very important, and if you decide to spend time together with the Tramontana team, you will surely not get bored. You must know that all our instructors and animators are licensed to practise the profession. Our personnel are experienced, and we always try to approach the course participants as individually as possible. We conduct trainings in the following languages: English, Croatian, German, and Polish.

It’s pure madness – the joy of freedom given by sailing is hard to describe. You just need to try it. It’s also a very technical sport discipline, thanks to which anyone can give it a try. We train people from the 5th year of age upwards

The first steps

You want to stand on a board with a sail for the first time – there’s nothing easier. The Tramontana base in Omiš is the perfect place. After learning about the basics of balancing on the board comes the time for the first attempts with a propeller and simple turns. After mastering control over the equipment, you will be able to sail on your own in weak wind conditions. On average, 3 to 5 hours of lessons are needed to master such basics.

A little more than just the basics

More dynamic turns, sailing in a waist harness. First use of faster equipment and more difficult conditions, “start at the beach”. All these elements are a preparation for the first planing on the windsurfing board.

The first planes

It’s time to proceed with the really quick surfing on the board. The first half-planes, and then planes, will allow for entering the next level in windsurfing. Every person who’s ever felt the speed of planing even once wants to come back to this feeling every opportunity he or she gets.

Several subsequent skills are needed for planing to become really confident. At this stage, you will learn how to get into stirrups, how to control the board, and how to fully use the harness when sailing at high speeds, as well as how to properly close the sail – so that it would catch wind as effectively as possible.

Acrobatic manoeuvres in planing

A lightning-quick tack and a snap jibe when planing will let you have great fun, even on a wavy reservoir. After mastering these skills, you won’t stress over how you “probably should do a jibe”. Another thing that will let you ascend to a higher level and, at the same time, will be an introduction to more complicated acrobatic manoeuvres is the simple jump, which administers the next adrenaline shot.

Light wind Freestyle

Windsurfing provides great fun even to advanced surfers in weak wind conditions. Tricks for weak wind teach flexibility on the board, but also are the subsequent skills in the windsurfer’s assortment. Of course, they also make the people around you unable to tear their eyes away from you

If you want your movements to be as ergonomic and safe for your locomotor system as possible, use the assistance of the Tramontana instructor. Such classes will allow for eliminating any detailed mistakes that may creep into your movements. Our instructors can also show the surrounding area – from the water or land perspective.
